Our Custom Book Production Process . . .
We work closely with you throughout the book development and production process to create your perfect Living Legacy Book. You’ll benefit from the expertise of a seasoned book publishing project manager and designer, as well as working with a top-level creative team of book production experts to provide a personalized approach to your book. We work with you every step of the way to bring your book’s unique, creative vision to life.
Stage 1.
Initial Consultation
We give you a general overview of the book creation process and review the materials you want to use in your book. We will then put together a project proposal (at no charge) detailing the various elements and work scope of the book development process.
Our unique process requires detailed and intentional project management. We’ll meet with you on a regular basis to review effective processes and timelines that will keep the project on track.
Stage 3.
Preserve & Protect
In the project’s early stages we work with you to compile, archive and protect all the important memorabilia that will ultimately serve as the critical pieces of your story’s framework. We carefully digitize and organize the various elements from your personal collection—photographs, writings, letters and more—that you wish to see in your book.
Stage 4.
Research & interviewing
We conduct in-depth research to gain historic context and information. This often leads to uncovering forgotten stories, photographs and facts. Throughout the interview process, we ask specific, pointed questions so we can gain greater insight into your life story and history.
Stage 5.
writing & editing
We work with you to develop your story and create a rough draft. We then meticulously edit your story, improving character development, narrative flow and other big picture elements. Ultimately turning your draft into an engaging story that is ready for preliminary design and layout.
Stage 6.
Book Design Development
This is where we put all the pieces together. Our goal is to create a book that is as pleasing to the eyes as it is to the ears. We seamlessly pull together the text, detailed illustrations, beautiful typography and eye-catching photography to create your perfect book.
Stage 7.
Printing & Binding
Finally, we bring everything together in one beautifully bound book. We design the cover and help you select your favorite paper and type of binding. After your book has been expertly printed and bound, it’s the moment you’ve been waiting for: the delivery of your one-of-a-kind Living Legacy Book!
